Early in the next year, Pakistan’s home series against the West Indies is probably going to be postponed till the following year. According to ESPNCricinfo, both boards are delighted to reschedule the three-match T20I series between the two teams for 2024. It was originally scheduled to take place in January.

It may be possible for players from both teams to become available for the different T20 competitions at that time because of the consequent gap in the schedule. In that month, there will be the ILT20 in the United Arab Emirates, the SA20 in South Africa, the BBL in Australia, and the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Even if the Covid-19 epidemic divided one white-ball series in December 2021 into two, West Indies had already visited Pakistan twice in the past 10 months.

The two teams played three T20Is in that month before the ensuing ODIs had to be postponed till June of this year because of a Covid epidemic in the West Indies camp. They participated in the 2023 World Cup Super League and played the ODIs at Multan.

Between New Zealand’s visit to Pakistan in the winter of 2022–2023 and the Pakistan Super League the following year, this three-match T20I series was scheduled. West Indies’ return in February 2024, when they are scheduled to play three Tests as part of the World Test championship would likely include the additional three games.

For the BBL, SA20, and ILT20, several West Indian athletes have already joined up. Due to their international home schedule at the time as well as rumours that they wouldn’t be accepted into a league where all six franchises are owned by IPL clubs, Pakistan’s players were not included in the SA20 auction.

For the ILT20, no Pakistani players have received NOCs either. The BPL, which appears as a destination for some of them in that just opened slot, maybe the benefactor.
