South Africa heads into the third T20I with work to do in the series. They were completely outplayed in the first game and might be blown away in the second game too. They are placed sixth in the ICC rankings. Meanwhile, they have tough four games to negotiate and find a way to win. They lost their previous T20I series against Pakistan 3-1 before this series.

The Protean side is pretty young and inexperienced when compared to the mighty Windies. They do not have Faf Du Plessis in the side and the likes of Quinton De Kock and David Miller have not stood up in the first game.

With the second game later tonight, it will be interesting to see if the duo makes an impact on the game. meanwhile, in this article, we predict South Africa’s predicted playing XI in the third T20I. The Protean side are expected to make changes after their loss in the first game.

De Kock scored 37 in the first game, however, it was not enough for his team to post a big score for his team. South Africa will need a big score from his willow in the third game to give themselves a chance of winning the series as well. Ahead of the third game on Tuesday, De Kock gets another chance later tonight in Grenada.

Markram should replace Reeza Hendricks at the top of the order in the third game. It will be interesting to see if he gets his chance in the second game. Markram has three fifties to his name in this format and he can add a few more to his tally in this series.

Temba Bavuma

Bauma scored just 22 in the first game. As a leader, he has to take more responsibilities with the bat. The series will be a litmus test for the Test specialist. One expects this series to be the deciding factor if he is going to lead the Proteas in the T20 World Cup.

Rassie van der Dussen

Dussen top-scored for the Proteas in the first game. Batting in the middle-order, he will hold the key for either setting or chasing a big score. He will hope that his score ends in a winning cause for his side after the previous one was for a losing cause.

Heinrich Klaasen

Klaasen scored just seven in the first game. He did not play his usual attacking game. He fell cheaply in the first game. He has his chance later tonight in the second game and in the remaining games to make a substantial contribution to his team.

David Miller

David Miller failing to score big was the turning point for South Africa in the first game. he is the most experienced player in this current Protean T20I setup. He should make his chances count in the remaining games.

Phehlukwayo batting at number seven extends South Africa’s batting lineup. He is an ideal replacement for someone like Chris Morris who is not a part of the squad. He was not given a game in the first T20I. He should be a part of the XI in the remaining games.

Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada went wicketless in the first game. For South African to make a comeback in the series, he has to take up key wickets and limit the opposition from scoring. He will be up against the likes of Russell, Pooran, Gayle which makes up for a fascinating contest.

Anrich Nortje

Rabada’s partner Nortje also went wicketless in the first game. He should be a part of the playing XI in every game. He bowled just two overs in the first game. Hopefully, he will bowl his full quota of overs in the remaining games. He is a strike bowler for his team.

Lungi Ngidi

Ngidi bowled an expensive spell in the first game. He went for 46 in three overs and was wicketless. Along with Rabada and Nortje, Ngidi forms a pace bowling trio for the Proteas. All of them need to bowl well for the rest of the games.

Tabraiz Shamsi

Shamsi picked up the only West Indies wicket in the first game. He will play a key role in the remaining games. He sums up the strongest possible playing XI South Africa can look to field in the remaining games.
