West Indies won the fourth T20I on Thursday, July 01 to set up a decider against South Africa in the fifth T20I on Saturday, July 03, in Grenada. Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo played key roles to help their side win the game. The side is looking for back-to-back T20I series wins. They beat Sri Lanka 2-1 heading into this series against South Africa.

The side has played some entertaining cricket until now with their big match players performing in crunch situations. However, the likes of Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran are yet to fire in all cylinders and might do so in the final T20I.

They played with a full-strength side and would ideally not look to change their playing XI for the final game. In this article, we predict the Windies playing XI for the final game.

West Indies vs South Africa, 5th T20I: West Indies’ Predicted XI

Lendle Simmons

Simmons scored 47 in the fourth T20I to help his side set a target of 168 to win for the Proteans. The target proved just enough in the end as the Windies won by 21 runs. This was his second game of the series and he would definitely play the final for his side.

Lewis has been the top scorer for his side with 126 runs from four innings. However, he scored just even in the fourth game and would like to make up for his failure in the final. Lewis has been doing a good job up at the top for his side in recent times.

Chris Gayle

Gayle has been rather silent in the series so far. He has scored 32*, 8, and 5 so far in the three games that he has played. He has not been at his best in this series and in the last few years has not been a consistent member of the Windies national team as well. However, it is in big matches that Gayle play his best and the final T20I might be the one.

Shimron Hetmyer

Hetmyer who was a part of the playing XI in the last two games has not been at his best either. He scored 17 and in the third and the fourth T20Is. He should make a substantial contribution in the final game.

Nicholas Pooran

Pooran will keep wickets for his side and bat at number five. He too has not scored in the series so far. In the previous 4 matches, he has just scored 52. The final games give him another opportunity t get back into form.

Kieron Pollard

Pollard slots in at number six in the line-up. He scored an unbeaten 51 while all the other batsmen struggled. Pollard with his experience should have another innings in store for his side in this decider.

Andre Russell

The WWIndies all-rounder has been amongst runs and wickets in this series so far. He has scored 62 runs in the four games batting either at number six or seven. With the ball too he has picked up four wickets in four games.

Fabian Allen

Allen is the left-arm spinning all-rounder in the line-up. He scored a quickfire 19 off 13 balls in the fourth T20I and also picked up two wickets in the four games that he has played.

Jason Holder

Holder should come back into the playing XI for the final game either in place of Obed McCoy. With his height he can generate extra bounce in the otherwise dead Grenada track. He can be useful with the bat too if the team requires him to do so.

Dwayne Bravo

The veteran West Indian has taken nine wickets in the series so far. Bravo has delivered time and again for West Indies in this series and will be required to do that once again in the final game.

Fidel Edwards

Edwards was a part of the playing XI in the fourth game. He culminates the strongest possible combination that West Indies should look to field in the final game. It has depth in batting and enough variety in the bowling attack to pull of another T20I series win.
