Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has fired indirect shots at former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi for criticising Shahanawaz Dahani’s celebrations in the Pakistan Super League. Notably, former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi had taken a jibe at Shahnawaz Dahani during PSL 2022 for being too overboard with his celebrations after clinching wickets.
“It seems to me that he’s gone a little far with his celebration. As a former Multan Sultans player, I’ve spoken with Mushi [Muhstaq Ahmed] bhai about keeping his concentration on cricket. I believe he intends to celebrate in this fashion, such as moving towards the audience, but these things only look nice when you are doing well and have fulfilled your ambitions, in my opinion..” Because of the popularity of Tik-Tok, a large portion of our future talent is lost,” Shahid Afridi had said.
Danish Kaneria Slams Shahid Afridi For His Comments On Shahnawaz Dahani
“Shahnawaz Dahani is a wonderful talent. I would love to see him playing against India now that Shaheen Afridi isn’t there. Dahani had done extremely well in the PSL in Dubai and India haven’t faced him yet. He’s young, he’s energetic, and he’s a hard-working guy,” Danish Kaneria said in an exclusive interview with Cricketaddictor.
“I remember one former Pakistan player questioning Shahnawaz Dahani’s celebrations. Who the hell are you to question his antics? He is young, wanting to express and enjoy on the field and you come with such sort of dirty politics. Everyone knows you have played a lot of cricket for the country and you are a big name but let the young players play how they want to,” Danish added.

“Imran Tahir goes for a run around the ground after taking a wicket and no one has said a word about him in South Africa. You should let young players take the feel of the international stage and avoid commenting on such petty issues,” Danish further stated.

Shahnawaz Dahani could be a real trump card against India in the Asia Cup match on August 28. So far, the Indian batters have not faced Dahani and he might come as a surprise given his abilities. The right-arm pacer has played 31 T20 games so far and has picked 48 wickets in the format. He has an average of 18.20 in his T20 career so far and an impressive strike rate of 13.1.
