“The WPL player auction was postponed a bit due to the ILT20 playoffs in UAE. The franchises were given time to prepare for the auction,” a BCCI source said.
In the first season, each team would have a budget of Rs 12 crore to spend on players. Franchises are likely to compete fiercely for the best female cricket players in the Women Premier League player auction. The WPL is ready to elevate women’s cricket in India to new heights thanks to increasing league funding and the participation of some of the greatest names in Indian cricket.
The WPL player auction will be a turning point in Indian women’s cricket, ushering in a new era. The league is anticipated to provide the top women’s cricket players a stage on which to demonstrate their prowess while also giving younger players a chance to refine their talents.
The league is also anticipated to spark a fresh round of investment and business activity in the women’s cricket market, which will help the sport grow in the nation.
