Veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha has returned to Bengal cricket after spending two seasons with Tripura following a fallout with the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) officials. Saha is eager to make a significant impact across all three formats for Bengal in the upcoming domestic season.
At a press event held at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Wriddhiman Saha expressed his enthusiasm about rejoining Bengal and his commitment to giving his best on the field in the upcoming domestic cricket season. The wicketkeeper-batter’s return brings extensive experience and skills to bolster the Bengal team’s performance.

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Snehasish Ganguly and secretary Naresh Ojha were also present at the event, and they welcomed Wriddhiman Saha back with great enthusiasm. They acknowledged his previous contributions and expressed hope that his presence would strengthen the Bengal side.
Ganguly was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz: “It is a matter of great joy to welcome Wriddhi back in Bengal. He has served us a lot in the past. I hope his return will strengthen the team, and Bengal will aim for a better performance in the upcoming season. I wish Wriddi the very best for the forthcoming season.”
Meanwhile, Wriddhiman Saha said that Bengal’s team now has a mix of young talent and seasoned experience, which he believes will be instrumental in building a strong and competitive team. Expressing his excitement to rejoin the Bengal team, Wriddhiman Saha said that the Bengal team is taking one step at a time and preparing well for the season rather than looking too far ahead.
Saha said during a press meet in Kolkata: “I am happy and excited to be back in Bengal. I am looking forward to playing and giving my best for the state. As of now, my plan is to play in all three formats for Bengal, and it will depend on how things go ahead in the season.”

Regarding his age and future in cricket, Saha emphasized that age is just a number for him, saying he remains motivated and has no immediate plans to retire from the game. The Indian keeper has stressed that he would retire from all formats of the game only when he feels the time is right.
He further said on his retirement from the game: “Age is just a number for me. As long as I am motivated to play this game, I will continue playing. I have no plans of retirement as of now. As and when I think of quitting the game, I will retire from all formats of the game.”
Speaking about his role alongside Bengal’s young wicketkeeper-batter Abishek Porel, Saha said that he is ready to support the team and contribute to the development of promising talents. He is ready to do what is best for the team and help emerging players like Porel.
Saha signed off by saying, “I will do anything possible for the betterment of the team. I will always be a team man, and I am ready to do what is best for the team and also, help prolong the cricketing career of a talented player like Abishek.”
