Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer Yash Dayal came up with a dazzling post for India batter Virat Kohli on his social media account. The left-arm pacer posted a picture with the batter and stated that it's an honor for him to stand next to the former skipper of the franchise.

Virat Kohli is one of the biggest superstars in the world of cricket. Be it at the international stage or the Indian Premier League (IPL), he is the leading batter for the India National Cricket Team and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and maintained the stature for the last decade.

Virat Kohli has been one of the main reasons behind the huge fan following of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League. He has been part of the franchise for more than one decade and has given his heart and soul to the team, giving his best with the bat and in the field.

Virat Kohli is the leading run-getter in the Indian Premier League and all his runs have come for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The opening batter has 8004 runs in the league from 252 games at a strike rate of around 131. He also has slammed 38 half-centuries and 8 centuries, which is the most by any batter in the league.

Virat Kohli was at his best in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He ended the tournament as the orange cap holder as he scored 741 runs from 15 games that he played in the tournament and also slammed one century in the league. During the season, he also completed 8000 runs in the league, becoming the first batter to achieve the feat.

On the other hand, Yash Dayal, who played for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2024, was the mainstay of the bowling lineup in the tournament. The fast bowler bowled sensationally well throughout the tournament and ended up as the leading wicket-taker for the team.

Yash Dayal posted a picture with Virat Kohli on Wednesday (17th July). The picture was from the IPL 2024 when the RCB team went for dinner at Virat Kohli's cafe. He posted the picture with the caption: "it's an honour to stand aside you." Many feel that this post by the pacer is in response to Amit Mishra's recent controversial remarks where he claimed that Kohli has changed with fame and power.

Here's the post:

Virat Kohli to miss the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka

Virat Kohli was last seen in action during the T20 World Cup 2024. The opening batter didn't have the kind of tournament that he would've wanted as he failed in the entire tournament but played a match-winning innings in the final against South Africa, ending up with 76 runs.

But after India won the tournament, Virat Kohli announced his retirement from the T20I. The batter ended up with 4188 at an average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 137.04 in his career. He played 125 matches and ended his career as India's second-highest run-scorer in the format.

Virat Kohli was now expected to be seen in action during the ODI series against Sri Lanka National Cricket in August this year. The batter reportedly will be missing the series as he has asked for the rest. He is now expected to be seen in action during the Test series against Bangladesh at home.
