Yashasvi Jaiswal issues an official statement on being left out of India's Playing 11 in T20 World Cup 2024

Young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has opened up about not being part of the Rohit Sharma-led team's playing XI in the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA. Yashasvi Jaiswal also spoke about missing his second T20I century by just seven runs in the fourth T20I match against Zimbabwe in Harare.
Yashasvi Jaiswal played an aggressive knock against Zimbabwe in the fourth T20I of the five-match series in Harare on Saturday, July 13. The southpaw helped the Men in Blue chase down the 153-run target in just 15.2 overs without losing any wickets. The visiting team secured a 3-1 series win with one match to spare.
The left-handed batter scored 93 runs off 53 deliveries with the help of 13 boundaries and two maximums. It was Jaiswal's second-highest score in 19 T20I matches. He was part of the Indian T20 World Cup 2024 winning squad but didn't get a single chance to represent the national cricket team in a single game.

Following the match between India and Zimbabwe, the 22-year-old opener interacted with enthusiastic cricket fans at the Harare Sports Club. Jaiswal posed for selfies with fans at the boundary line and answered their questions without hesitation. The video of the interaction has gone viral on social media.
In a video posted by the Indian cricket team on Instagram, Yashasvi Jaiswal stated that he enjoyed being part of the World Cup-winning team. The left-handed batter expressed pride in playing for India when given the chance.
"I just enjoyed my process and really enjoyed being a part of the World Cup champion team, and I learned a lot. I was really excited whenever I got the chance, and I will try my best to make sure that I am contributing for my team and winning the game for my team, and I really enjoyed playing today," Jaiswal said.
"It was an amazing experience with Shubman Bhai, and I really enjoyed playing and scoring runs. Of course, whenever I play for India, I really enjoy it and feel proud," he added.

Domestic Games Are Really Important - Yashasvi Jaiswal
When asked about missing his century by seven runs and his conversation with Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal stated that they focused on finishing the game without losing any wickets. He also emphasized the importance of playing domestic cricket to achieve success at the international level.
"We were thinking about how to finish the game and make sure that we win the match, and our mind was that we just have to finish with no loss," Jaiswal further stated.
"Of course, domestic games are really important for us and we really enjoy playing."
The home team managed to score 152/7 after being asked to bat first. In response, skipper Shubman Gill and Jaiswal chased down the target with a commanding performance. The pair added an unbroken 156-run partnership. The Indian skipper scored 58 runs off 39 balls, with six boundaries and two sixes.
