Former West Indies National Cricket Team batter Brian Lara backed young India National Cricket Team batter Yashasvi Jaiswal to come out good in the Test series against the Australia National Cricket Team. He said that the young batter has the ability to play in any condition.
India National Cricket Team will be traveling to Australia for the five-match Test series later this year. The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 arguably will be one of the most exciting series as both teams over the years have displayed a magnificent performance in the longest format of the game.

One of the exciting players who is likely to play in the series will be Yashasvi Jaiswal. The left-hander has had a massive start to his Test career as he has piled truckloads of runs for the team and has been the main reason behind the dominance of the India National Cricket Team in the longest format of the team.
Yashasvi Jaiswal has had great success in the West Indies and India. However, Australia will be altogether a different challenge for him. But with the kind of outings that he has had for the India National Cricket Team, he will be key for the team in the Test series.

Brian Lara expressed his confidence in Yashasvi Jaiswal, saying that the young batter has all the strength and will be successful in Australian conditions. He added that he expects the batter to do well. Speaking on the sidelines of the International Masters League, he explained:
“I think he’s [Jaiswal] got the ability to play in any condition. I saw him in the Caribbean. The pitches in Australia are slightly different, but if you take that sort of strength that you have, you’re going to play good cricket in any conditions. So, I expect to see him do well."

Brian Lara further added that Jaiswal is technically sound and it will depend on the mental thing. He admitted that playing in Australia is a different challenge, but India National Cricket Team are capable of winning. He explained:
"I don’t think there’s much that he has to do technically. I just think it’s all about the mental thing. Travelling away from home. Playing against Australia on their shores is a different beast. But I believe that the Indian team that I’ve seen going to Australia over the last couple of occasions are very capable of winning."
Jaiswal also recently surpassed Sunil Gavaskar for the most number of runs for the team in first 10 Tests. He has 1,094 runs in the first 10 Test matches. He is ahead of Sunil Gavaskar (978) and Vinod Kambli (937) in terms of Indians. He has the 4th most runs overall after the 10 games in the history of the longest format of the game.
