Your Contribution Has Been Immense And Will Always Be Remembered - Virat Kohli To Exiting Coaching Staff

Indian skipper Virat Kohli commended the coaching staff of Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun, and R Sridhar after their stint with the Indian team ended following the conclusion of India’s campaign at the T20 World Cup.
Head coach, Shastri’s contract was timed to run out after the World Cup. In his final game, the Indian team defeated Namibia and finished third in Group B but failed to move into the semifinals. He will be leaving the team along with his staff, which includes bowling coach, Bharat Arun, and fielding coach, R Sridhar.
Taking to Twitter, Kohli congratulated the trio on their successful journey and thanked them for their contribution to Indian cricket.
“Thank you for all the memories and the amazing journey we’ve had as a team with you all. Your contribution has been immense and will always be remembered in Indian cricket history. Wish you the best moving forward in life. Until next time,” he wrote.

Under Shastri’s management, the team achieved great heights in all three formats. In Tests, they have been dominating the ICC Rankings, securing away wins in Australia and England (2-1 series lead). They have also stacked series wins at home, becoming virtually unbeatable.

As for T20Is and ODIs, there have been plenty of bilateral series wins. However, the only blemish in an otherwise excellent resume for Shastri is the lack of an ICC trophy in his cabinet. Although they reached the knockout stages of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy and the 2019 ODI World Cup, they failed to win the tournament.
