'Your speed gun requires servicing': Vinay Kumar destroys Sanjay Manjrekar over 'medium pacer' dig

Former India National Cricket Team pacer Vinay Kumar gave a befitting reply to Sanjay Manjrekar for his comments on him during Day 2 of the ongoing Test between India and Australia. The match between the teams is underway at the Optus Stadium in Perth.

While the India National Cricket Team have been dominating the game in Perth, Sanjay Manjrekar, who was commentating, made an interesting comment. The cricketer-turned-commentator talked about the tracks in India for domestic cricket on air during the match.

He talked about the green tracks and claimed that grass on the wicket made 'medium pacers' like Vinay Kumar top the wicket-taking charts in the tournaments as all they needed to do was bowl in green areas, which resulted in wickets for them. Speaking on air during the first Test between India and Australia, he said:

"Related to all associations, how much grass you need to have on the surface at the domestic level, but that I think that's gone. It's what it also did was medium paces like the Vinay Kumar with no disrespect and started, you know, topping the wicket-taking charts because all they needed to do with grass on the pitch was put the ball at 120kph in that area.

"And it got wickets, so it's a combination of a young Indian being fascinated by fast bowling, just generally the fitness concept if you look at that."

Manjrekar's comment didn't go well with many fans and Vinay Kumar too. The former India National Cricket Team pacer lashed out at the cricketer-turned-commentator over calling him a medium pacer. He also claimed that his bowling speed was much higher than what he said.

Vinay Kumar highlighted his record as the first Indian fast bowler to take 100 IPL wickets; he claimed that he is satisfied with his life and takes pride in his bowling. Taking to his Twitter account, he explained:

"Sanjay bhai with due respect, your speed gun requires urgent servicing. 120KMPH, Seriously? With God’s grace, I take pride in my achievements; I am contented, satisfied and happy with my life.

"Medium pacer like Vinay Kumar has worked hard to become the 1st Indian fast bowler to take 100 IPL wickets and also played for the country in all the formats. I take pride in my bowling. Anyways best wishes and regards #INDvAUS"

Vinay Kumar was one of the finest pacers to have played for the India National Cricket Team. The right-arm pacer played 1 Test for the team picking 1 wicket. He also played 31 ODIs for the team, bagging 38 wickets, and also featured in 9 T20Is, taking 10 wickets.

Vinay Kumar also played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. The pacer played 105 games in the tournament and picked 105 wickets at an economy of around 9.
