Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh is arguably the best all-rounder the country has produced after Kapil Dev. Like Kapil Dev, Yuvraj Singh was a big-match player and delivered impactful, along with game-changing performances when it mattered. The spin-bowling all-rounder, who was a clean striker of the ball, was instrumental in India’s World Cup victories in 2007 and 2011. But he could not quite crack the Test arena as much, blaming the Indian management for not getting enough chances.

Yuvraj Singh’s limited-overs career entailed featuring in 304 ODIs and 58 T20Is after debuting in 2000. The southpaw made his first Test appearance three years against New Zealand in Mohali; however, he managed to play 40 till his last in 2012. In 40 Tests, Yuvraj managed 1900 runs at a decent average of 33.92 with three hundreds and 11 fifties. He also has a healthy first-class average of 44.16 in 139 fixtures, mustering 8765 runs.

Yet, it is likely that the presence of stalwarts like Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid, and Sachin Tendulkar in the middle-order did not quite enable him to nail his spot. The 39-year old is not quite happy with the way his Test career panned out and expressed it through a post from Wisden. The news portal took to its official Twitter handle and wrote, “Which former Indian cricketer do you wish played more Tests?” Yuvraj saw that tweet and sarcastically replied that he would likely get the nod to play Tests in his next life when he is not the 12th man for seven years.
