This lad can do the trick for India if given opportunity. He already got skills to perform under pressure, as he led teams on numerous occasions and also played well in IPL.

Ishan Kishan, who captains Jharkhand in the domestic circuit, has been touted to have a great future in international cricket and is seen as one of the potential replacements of veteran Dhoni. Well, his chance might be on its way with Pant failing to perform.

He already showed what he is capable of doing for India -A against South Africa in the recently concluded series. Apart from that, he can be that crucial left-hander for India, who can give quick runs for the team.

Mayank Agarwal has been the most consistent run-scorer in the domestic circuit. Although he made his Test debut in Australia, Agarwal has to wait for his debut in the limited-overs cricket. With fresh faces coming into the squad, many expected Agarwal to get a nod considering his conversion rate in List A cricket. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the case.

The youngster reached England as the replacement during the world cup. It certainly means that he is in the scheme of things but the question is when it is going to be? Currently, he is in fine form in red-ball cricket.

3. Vijay Shankar:

He was expected to be the second fast-bowling all-rounder of the team. Even in the world cup, they asked him to bat at number 4 and also got the ball in his hand whenever Virat Kohli needed an extra-fast bowler. The team management also tried him at number 3 position, which worked at times to get some quick runs on the board.

If provided the chances, the all-rounder would surely make the most of the opportunity. As he is out of the team due to injury, there would be no problems for him to make a comeback. With the world cup set to be played in Australia, he would be very handy.

2. Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik has been in the limited-overs squad for quite some time. However, he has lacked an extended run which has made the life hard for the wicket-keeper batsman. Karthik was in the World Cup squad and played only one game where he failed to leave an impact.

Going by the experience Karthik possess, he would be the impactful batsman in the lower-order with MS Dhoni’s absence who can score quick runs. The series against Bangladesh could give him the opportunity to make things fall in place.
