The world premiere tournament; Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen lots of players coming up through the ranks to shine for the team. From youth to experience, cricketers with good batting, bowling and all-round capabilities have always ensured to make the headlines for all the right reasons.

However, some unlucky players don’t get a chance to play for the lucrative league and even if they do so, they would be overlooked by the team management and hence will warm up the bench or will carry the drinks would be their only option. 1. Cheteshwar Pujara – Kolkata Knight Riders

Cheteshwar Pujara hasn’t really had a significant impact in the truncated version of the game. His boundary haemorrhage in the powerplay overs has always backfired him. However, he has proved that to be a real case for himself as a viable batsman for India in the red-ball cricket.

Pujara has plied his trade for Kolkata Knight Riders in the initial three seasons of the Indian Premier League. His short-lived performances led to his ouster from the franchise. In the 2011 players’ auction, he was roped in by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

He had then started for RCB before injuring his knee in a game against Kochi Tuskers Kerala. The injury kept him out of cricketing action for nearly a year before he had returned to domestic cricket at the end of 2011.
