Aakash Chopra Names his and Fan's Test XI of 2018

Former Indian Test opener and now turned commentator Aakash Chopra has named his Test XI for the year 2018. In fact, Aakash Chopra also announced the side which was picked by fans. Chopra announced both the sides on his YouTube channel of #AakashVani. Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra selected Kane Williamson as his captain of the side.

On the other hand, it has been a fine year for Test cricket. There have been some fine matches which have gone down to the wire. Consequently, the best players in the world have come up with solid performances.

Fans XI: 

The fans selected Alastair Cook and Aiden Markram for the opening position. Cook had bid adieu to the game on a high when he scored a fine hundred in the fifth Oval Test match against India. Meanwhile, the fans XI included four Indian players in Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara. All these four players have been consistent performers in 2018.

Aakash Chopra XI:

On the other hand, Aakash Chopra made some changes to his Test XI. Chopra selected Dimuth Karunaratane and Aiden Markram as his openers. However, there was no place for Mohammed Shami in Chopra’s team. Chopra picked Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Jasprit Bumrah in his team. Furthermore, he gave wicketkeeping duties to England’s gloveman Jonny Bairstow.

Kane Williamson leads Chopra’s side as New Zealand captain has had a prolific season. The commentator picked Nathan Lyon as his solitary spinner. Moreover, Jasprit Bumrah, Kagiso Rabada and Stuart Broad constitute Chopra’s pace battery.
