Former South African talisman batsman AB de Villiers returned to field after a long time. de Villiers, who had surprisingly called it a day in May, played his first match after International retirement. In fact, de Villiers was able to hit the ground running as he scored a fine knock of 59 runs off just 30 balls while leading Tshane Spartans. The right-hander scored three fours and five maximums in his knock.

Meanwhile, AB de Villiers was seen using a walkie-talkie in the sixth over after winning the toss and deciding to field first. Thus, de Villiers was seen interacting with his coach to plan how he should try and attack the opposition batsmen.

AB de Villiers knock went in vain.

In fact, the planning worked for Tshwane Spartans as they were able to get the better of Janneman Malan. The incident happened in the first innings as de Villiers was seen using the walkie-talkie on two occasions. The second incident happened in the 14th over of the innings.

On the other hand, Cape Town Blitz skipper Dawid Malan didn’t use the same technology. Meanwhile, AB de Villiers knock of 59 runs went in vain as the hosts went on to win by a margin of 49 runs.

AB de Villiers is hopeful that Mzansi Super League will bring success to the South African cricket. On the other hand, South Africa won the three-match ODI series against Australia by 2-1 and the one-off T20I is pruned to 10 overs after rain delayed the start.

Meanwhile, South Africa’s T20 league Mzansi Super League kick-off yesterday. South Africa could not begin their own T20 league because of the financial issues.
