It has been a sensational summer so far for the Australian Cricket Team. They have outsmarted Sri Lankan team, which was followed by the series victory against number one ranked Pakistan. Both the victories came on the surfaces, which will be hosting the upcoming ICC T20I World Cup 2020. Meanwhile, the former Australian Adam Gilchrist believes Australia has got the talent to make things fall in place for the upcoming grand event.

Adam Gilchrist, who has been a part of three successful ODI campaigns for Australia, feels that the Aaron Finch-led side are extremely well-placed heading into next year’s showdown. And also, he believes that home advantage will play a major part in helping the Kangaroos in their quest to win the T20 World Cup.

Australia loves the bigger grounds – Adam Gilchrist

Adam Gilchrist is impressed with the way Australia have kickstarted their preparations for the next year’s T20 World Cup which they will host in October. Australia, who are yet to win the global T20 showpiece event in tournament’s 12-year history, might lift their maiden title as per Adam Gilchrist.

With the tournament set to be held at home next year, Australia will, arguably, have their best chance to add the WT20 trophy and have taken the first step towards doing so by finishing the calendar year 2019 unbeaten in T20I cricket.

“I think they are really well-placed seeing how they’ve started the summer. They’ll love the conditions, they love the grounds, they’re bigger grounds, they’ll play them well,” Gilchrist was quoted as saying by Times of India. We got everyone available now, which is great. I think Australia is, probably for the first time ever, focusing on picking their best team regularly and not just for the World Cups,” he added.

“I think they’re probably still working out whether to use two spin bowlers or one spin bowler and a batting allrounder like Mitch Marsh or (Marcus) Stoinis. Ashton Agar is doing a really good job, and if you look at all the successful bowlers in T20 around the world, they’re all spinners,” he added.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2020 will commence from October 18 and will conclude on November 15 next year in Australia. The women’s tournament will be held from February 21 to March 8.
