Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg has reacted hilariously to Adam Zampa dropping Virat Kohli in the first ODI between India and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

Almost everything had gone Australia’s way till that time before the leg-spinner dropped the India skipper while he was batting on just one. Earlier in the game, Australia had finished their innings on a mammoth total of 374 for 6 in the allotted 50 overs.

Aaron Finch led from the front and scored a century to lay the foundation for the big total. Finch and Warner gave Australia a solid start by adding 156 runs for the first wicket. Mohammed Shami broke the stand by dismissing Warner for 69.

However, it didn’t bring any respite for India as Finch went on to score 114 before Steve Smith scored his fastest ODI ton to further rub salt to India’s wounds. Smith scored 105 off just 66 balls with the help of 11 fours and four sixes. Glenn Maxwell also played a fine cameo of 45 off 19 balls.

Brad Hogg’s hilarious take on Zampa’s drop:

In the seventh over of India’s innings, Kohli top-edged a short ball from Pat Cummins at fine-leg where the former’s IPL teammate Zampa was standing. It was an easy catch but the Australia spinner made a heavy meal of it, giving his IPL captain a reprieve.

And soon after the incident, Brad Hogg took to Twitter to hilariously write that Zampa repaid Kohli for an IPL contract by dropping him, tweeting:

Fortunately for Zampa, Kohli did not last long and departed for 21 off as many balls. At the time of compiling this report, India were on 85 for 3 in the 11th over with Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul in the middle.
