Kedar Jadhav has made his comeback to competitive cricket, as he has been included in the Maharashtra squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Zonal League.

Jadhav is making a comeback to List A cricket after missing the series against Sri Lanka.

He suffered a hamstring injury just before the start of the ODI series and was replaced by Washington Sundar later. Jadhav though made a comeback for the ODI series against South Africa along with Shardul Thakur.

The selectors backed the duo, who had lost their place in the team due to respective injuries. Jadhav has a chance to regain his fitness and get some match practice ahead of the South Africa series. Also, he will have a chance to do well just ahead of the IPL auction.

Maharashtra squad also includes former Delhi Daredevils players, Ankit Bawne and Domnic Muthuswami. Rahul Tripathi too has been given a place on the side. He was one of the best players in last IPL after he was asked to open the innings after Mayank Agarwal’s failure in the tournament.

Since Rising Pune Supergiant side is not a part of upcoming IPL season, Rahul Tripathi was not someone who could have been retained by any team. Vijay Zol, now an irregular member of Maharashtra, also has been named on the side.

Maharashtra will face Gujarat, Saurashtra, Mumbai and Baroda in the West Zone League. The Kedar Jadhav-led side will play all its game at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

Maharashtra Squad: Ankit Bawne, Jagdish Zope, Satyajeet Bachhav, Prayag Bhati, Samad Fallah, Ruturaj
Gaikwad, Swapnil Gugale, Kedar Jadhav, Shamshuzama Kazi, Domnic Muthuswami, Nikhil Naik, Naushad Shaikh, Rahul Tripathi, Vijay Zol, Shrikant Munde, Divyang Patel.

Aniket Choudhary to lead Rajasthan –

Aniket Choudhary will lead Rajasthan in the upcoming T20 tournament. He was a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous season after he got sold for a huge amount of Rs 2 Crore. He had impressed India captain, Virat Kohli while bowling in the nets ahead of Australia Test series. Aniket also travelled with India A side to South Africa.

Interestingly, Rahul Chahar has also been included in the side. It is to be noted that he had switched his base to Services before the start of the season but looks like he made a mid-season transfer.

Chahar, surprisingly, missed out on a selection in the India U-19 side. He was expected to be an automatic selection, considering he had played IPL and was selected in Board President’s XI squad, as well but he missed the cut.

Aditya Garhwal, Khaleel Ahmed, Mahipal Lomror are few of the youngsters in the side. All the three players have been part of IPL teams in the past.
