Amitabh Bachchan Congratulates Team India on a Sensational Victory

Team India was quite superb in the opening ODI against England as they registered a comprehensive victory by 8 wickets to go 1-0 up in the 3 match series. The victory was largely built around two special individual performances. With the ball it was Kuldeep Yadav who spun a web around the English batters and restricted England to a moderate total of 268 runs. On a batting friendly Nottingham pitch, the score was never going to be enough.

After batting first England got off to a solid start courtesy openers Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow. Roy looked in great touch and struck some exceptional shots to get going. England raced off to 73 in the 11^th over when Kuldeep Yadav provided the maiden breakthrough in the form of Jason Roy. He also bagged the wickets of Joe Root and Bairstow in quick succession to reduce the hosts to 82/3 from 73/0. He was simply superb with his variations and kept on bamboozling the English batters.

Kuldeep came strongly in his 2^nd spell to bag the wickets of os Buttler, Ben Stokes and David Willey. The figures of 6/25 also turned out to be the most successful for a spinner in English conditions. The Indian openers got off to a brisk start. Shikhar Dhawan, in particular, smashed a few scorching cover drives to get going.

Rohit Sharma, in particular, looked in ominous touch and played some delightful shots. He shared a brilliant stand with Virat Kohli and almost sealed the match for India. He eventually carried his bat through the innings and remained unbeaten on 137 of just 115 deliveries. His unbeaten knock was studded with 15 fours and 4 sixes.

Following their victory, Big B of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan took to his twitter handle and congratulated the team for a brilliant victory. “T 2865 – and ..
