Unlike his team Kolkata Knight Riders, Andre Russell has been in red-hot form this season. The Knight Riders have won just four games this season and Russell bagged the Man of the Match award in three of them which pretty much tells about the impact he has had. Russell is in devastating form at the moment. He is Knight Riders’ top run-scorer this season, having scored 406 runs from 10 innings at an outrageous strike rate of 209.27.

The Knight Riders now need him more than ever as their tournament is falling apart. The Knight Riders had started the season in a dominant fashion. With Andre Russell firing on all cylinders, they won 4 of their first five games. However, they are yet to win after that and have now lost six in a row. With just 4 wins in 11 games now, the Knight Riders cannot afford another defeat. They are now up against Mumbai Indians who have been their bogey team since the inception of the IPL.

The Knight Riders have the worst record against Mumbai Indians who have a 18-5 head-to-head record. Knight Riders’ last victory against Mumbai Indians had come four years ago. They will have to be at the best against the three-time champions and need Russell to deliver again. However, it would not be an easy task against a team which has the likes of Lasith Malinga and Jasprit Bumrah.

But Russell has fired a warning to Mumbai Indians, saying said he never feared any bowler.

“I have never feared any bowler. Never. Bowlers fear me, to be honest. I’m not bragging or anything. I can get out in one ball tomorrow or the first ball they bowl can go for six. I’m not afraid to get out.

“I’m not going to die. So, it’s not the life and death situation. It’s like you’re giving yourself a chance to score runs they are trying to get you out. Bumrah, Malinga are top bowlers. But they are human beings,” Andre Russell said.
