Anushka Sharma To Play Lead Role In Jhulan Goswami's Biopic

With biopics on sports persons being the flavour of the season, the fans can witness yet another film being made on a cricketer. The last couple of years have seen films being made not only on cricketers but also on eminent personalities of other sports too. From Bhaag Milkha Bhaag to Mary Kom to Mohammed Azharuddin, MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar, the fans have witnessed some really top-notch biopics in recent times.

This time around, a biopic is being made on Indian women team’s legend Jhulan Goswami. Having retired from T20Is in 2018, Jhulan Goswami is one of the finest pacers to have played the women’s game.  In 2018, she became the first bowler to take 200 wickets in Women’s ODIs. The right-arm fast bowler from West Bengal, who was also awarded the ICC Women’s Player of Year award in 2007, later had a postage stamp issued in her honour.

So far, Jhulan, Goswami has taken 225 wickets in 182 matches after making her ODI debut in 2002. In the ten Tests she has played, she has bagged 40 wickets at an astonishing average of 16.62 with three five-wicket hauls.

Anushka Sharma to play Jhulan Goswami:

Meanwhile, Anushka Sharma, one of the leading actresses in Bollywood and wife of India men team’s captain Virat Kohli, is set to play the role of Jhulan Goswami in the latter’s biopic named ‘Chakdah Express’.

According to reports in XtraTime, Anushka Sharma will land in Kolkata on Saturday and she will go straight to Eden Gardens for the shoot. Anushka Sharma will reach Eden Gardens in the afternoon on Saturday. The shoot will take place in the dressing room and on the ground as well. The report claimed that Jhulan will be there at Eden Gardens too.
