The Englishmen have been ripped apart by the determined Australians in the first two Test of the 2017 Ashes series at Brisbane and Adelaide, respectively.

The Aussies are heading towards another victory in the third Test at the WACA with skipper Steven Smith leading by an example. England batted first and managed to put up a decent total of 403 runs which was made to look small when the Aussies came out to bat.

After a shaky start from the hosts, Steven Smith brought up his 22nd century in outstanding fashion to mark the downfall of the English side. He not only completed his ton but went on to smash a career best of 239 runs which justified his position as the number one Test batsman in the world.

Comeback hero Mitchell Marsh played an innings of incredible support with his innings of 181. The Aussies registered a gigantic total of 662 runs with the loss of nine wickets before declaring.

The English bowlers looked helpless in the middle with just one wicket on Day three. Former English international Michael Vaughan slammed the English bowling department and their performance in Australia. Vaughan criticized the lack of variation in the England bowling which has been the major reason behind such a disastrous situation at the WACA.

“It is a disastrous day. I think today showed we have no swing, no seam, no pace and no spin,” Vaughan told BT Sport.

“How are you going to get wickets? You are basically relying on an Australian batting line-up getting bored, chipping one in the air, but you can see in their eyes that they are not going to do that,” he added.

“They are desperate to get the Ashes back, and you have to say today is the day, in my opinion, that the Ashes will be staying in Australia,” said Vaughan.

Vaughan continued,

“Looking at the game situation, England will probably have to bat four and a half sessions to try and save the Test match and keep the Ashes alive,”

“It is a pitch that looks pretty good, those cracks will widen, but I do think England will need a bit of help from the Gods above, I really do.” he added.
