Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah feels Ravichandran Ashwin will play a crucial role in the fourth innings, as the pitch will break. However, the off-spinner had bagged three wickets in the first essay of the first Test in Adelaide. Meanwhile, Nathan Lyon had used the rough patches effectively during the second innings of India’s batting. The Aussies spinner had bowled some brilliant spells in the second essay.

“Ashwin will obviously play a more crucial now role because with the rough; we saw Nathan Lyon using the rough to his advantage. He is an experienced bowler and knows what he has to do. So he will probably work on it, and he will play a crucial role for sure,” Jasprit Bumrah said at the end of the second day’s play.

Moreover, the Gujrat pacer feels India will take some healthy lead on day four. He also said the first session would be the most important for the batsman and they have to capitalise on that time.

“I think it is slightly in our favour because the late wicket (Kohli) was a good thing for them. But we have a good lead. First session tomorrow will be a very important. If we capitalize on that, that will leave us in a very good place in this match,” the 25-year-old added.

Also, the right-arm pacer praised Cheteshwar Pujara for his brilliant effort in the first essay of the Test match. He played a crucial knock of 123 runs to help India post a score of 250 runs.

“Pujara has showed a lot of patience, that is the key element in Test cricket. He knows his game in and out, and he knows his strengths. Pujara is playing around that strength. He knows how to leave the ball well.” Jasprit Bumrah further added.

Furthermore, India’s second innings got wrapped up on 307, as they gave a target of 323 to Australia.
