Australia and India will lock horns in the second ODI at Adelaide. The hosts had taken a lead of 1-0 in the series after winning the opener by 34 runs. Thus, the visitors will like to make a comeback in the three-match series to keep breathing. India could not come with a collective team effort and would like to rectify their mistakes in a do or die match.

It was never going to be easy to chase down 289 after they were put on their knees by the Australian bowlers as they lost three wickets for mere four runs. Furthermore, the Indian death bowling was not up to the mark as they conceded 90 runs in the last ten overs. Thus, India would like to tick the right boxes.

Here is India’s predicted playing XI of India for the second ODI against Australia.

Rohit Sharma

India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma had scored a majestic knock of 133 runs off just 129 balls and had kept India in the game. However, Sharma heroics with the bat went in vain. The right-hander will like to continue with his good form.

Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed for a golden duck in the first match of the series. Hence, the southpaw opener will like to give a good start to the visitors as he had also done well in the T20I series.

Virat Kohli

India’s skipper Virat Kohli had a rare failure in the opening match. Consequently, Kohli will like to get back amongst the runs and he is going to hold the key once again.

Ambati Rayudu

Ambati Rayudu was also dismissed for a golden duck. The right-hander has shown the promise to end India’s number four woes. However, he would like to prove his mettle while playing in the alien conditions. Rayudu will stay in India’s Predicted Playing XI.

Kedar Jadhav

Kedar Jadhav could come into the team in place of Dinesh Karthik. Jadhav can provide some overs with the ball and can make a difference with his smart bowling.  Thus, he makes the cut into our India’s Predicted Playing XI.

MS Dhoni (wk)

India will like to stay afloat.

MS Dhoni kept India in the hunt, however, he scored his runs at a snail’s pace. Dhoni must look to rotate the strike after settling into the crease, which he has struggled to do in the recent past.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar hasn’t looked at his absolute best in the recent past. Furthermore, Kumar conceded 40 runs in his last three overs in the previous match. Hence, Kumar will like to turn the tables.

Yuzvendra Chahal

It has been a surprise to see Yuzvendra Chahal warming the benches. Chahal has been left out of the playing XI in the recent past but he should get back to the final XI as he is a wicket-taker. Thus, the leg-spinner makes the cut into our India’s Predicted Playing XI.

Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav was once again impressive in the first match. However, the chinaman spinner took a beating in his last over. Yadav will like to deliver the goods.

Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami should be in India’s plan for the World Cup. Shami has bowled with fire but hasn’t had luck on his side. He had whizzed past the outside edge on multiple occasions without the rub of the green on his side.

Khaleel Ahmed

Khaleel Ahmed was on the expensive side in the first match of the series. Thus, the young bowler will like to pull up his socks in the second game of the series.
