India’s chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the star of the show on the third day’s play in the final and fourth Test match against Australia. Yadav scalped three wickets and conceded 71 runs in his fine spell. Kuldeep said he gets motivation from first choice spinners, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

In fact, this is Kuldeep’s first Test match on the Australian soil. Kuldeep was able to get the better of Usman Khawaja who tried to take the attack but could not clear the mid-wicket fielder, Chetheswar Pujara. Subsequently, the chinaman scalped the wicket of Travis Head, who has looked good in the series. Head converted the ball into a full-toss and Yadav took a sharp caught and bowled.

Yadav took three wickets.

Kuldeep Yadav said while talking in the press conference, “It is really important when you play two spinners and considering the fact that Jadeja completes his over really fast and maintains a very good line so it helps the other bowler to try out a few things and bring in variations. The wicket is really good, it is helping the spinners, it is both turning and bouncing, so I think it is very good wicket to bowl on”.

Kuldeep Yadav was also able to bamboozle Australian skipper Tim Paine. Yadav gave good flight to the ball and Paine felt in the trap. Meanwhile, Yadav praised the competition within the team’s spin-battery.

Yadav added, “When you know you have Ashwin and Jadeja and both of them are really good and you know you are the third one, you get a lot of motivation from them. They are the ones who keep motivating me during the net session saying you have to bowl this, you have to bowl in certain areas so I was very motivated by them. So it is very important to learn from them. They have played enough cricket and I am still learning”.

Kuldeep Yadav would be happy with his performance on the third day’s play. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja also took two wickets. Meanwhile, India is in a shoo-in position in the fourth Test match and leads the series by 2-1.
