Well, India scripted history in Australia by bagging a series victory in the 3-match ODI series. It was yet another MS Dhoni classic, which helped India do the trick at Melbourne Cricket Grounds. Apart from MS Dhoni and Co, it was Yuzvendra Chahal, who finished with career-best figures to dent Aaron Finch-led side.

Initially, Bhuvneshwar Kumar started things in a fine fashion while Chahal took the charge by picking 6-wicket haul in his kitty. Shami was also brilliant with his bowling. In batting, Virat Kohli missed out to convert his start while MS Dhoni proved his mettle by batting at number 4 for the Indian National Cricket Team. Kedar Jadhav also played brilliantly.

We did put down chances – Aaron Finch

Speaking of the loss, the Australian skipper Aaron Finch quoted that they should have aimed less target in the slower pitches. Further, he went on to add saying that they have done brilliantly with the bat in the first couple of games, which lost the plot in the final ODI.

Finch also rued the missed chances in the middle from their brilliant fielders. Aaron Finch, himself, was the culprit on one occasion while Glenn Maxwell dropped Mahendra Singh Dhoni right off his first ball.

“We took it down to the wire, but when you give great players a couple of chances, it’s always tough,” says losing captain Aaron Finch. “The way the boys gave everything.. yes, we did put down chances, but they gave it there all. Their batting in the first couple of games was very good.”

”Today maybe we got impatient, looking at something much higher than what the wicket allowed. Maybe we should have set our targets lower on those sort of pitches,” he added.

Well, it was a tremendous victory for India which would enter into the record books with golden letters. Mahendra Singh Dhoni also got back to his form in the series, which is icing on the cake. In particular, Virat Kohli would be the happiest person in the world, especially, after winning the historic series, as a skipper.
