Kerry O’Keefe was a new name to hear for few Indian fans of this generation but a couple of statements on Indian cricketers have fetched him enough publicity more than what he gained in his entire cricketing career. First, he insulted Indian domestic unit and now, he got his pronunciation wrong of certain Indian players. Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra hits back at him.

Earlier, Mayank Agarwal became the first Indian opener to make his debut at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on Boxing Day in the ongoing third Test against Australia on Wednesday. He is India’s 295th player to debut in Test cricket as he got the cap just a few minutes before the match started at the MCG.

Meanwhile, the former Australian cricketer-turned-Broadcaster Keery O’Keefe ridiculed the scores of Mayank Agarwal in first-class cricket. He called that Mayank Agarwal’s triple hundred might have come against the waiters and the canteen people.

Unfortunate and unacceptable – Aakash Chopra on Kerry O’Keefe comments

Aakash Chopra in his tweet asked Kerry O’Keefe to get his knowledge right before voicing out his opinion. He stressed the fact that it was Kerry’s mistake if he fails to pronounce it right but not the individual, who got the name.

Digging into his tweet, it read ”Canteen XI the other day. Why would you name your kid Cheteshwar and Jadeja (not even knowing that his name is not Jadeja) today? If you can’t pronounce someone’s name, it’s YOUR problem. Unfortunate. Unacceptable.”

Meanwhile, at stumps on Day 4, Australia scored 258/8 but the bigger picture is India are two wickets away from taking an unassailable 2-1 lead in the ongoing four-match Test series.

Currently, Pat Cummins is at the crease, who scored an unbeaten 61 and was the only Australian to hit a half-century in the ongoing Test. Australia needs 141 to win.
