Indian National Cricket team batsman Cheteshwar Pujara dismissed the injury claims of skipper Virat Kohli which resurfaced on day two of the third Test saying that it is not a serious concern and he will continue to take part in the ongoing Test.

Meanwhile, Pujara and Kohli shared a 170 runs stand for the third wicket as India declared on 443 for seven, half an hour before the end of day two. However, during the partnership, the skipper had complained of a back issue. Kohli received on-field treatment by physio Patrick Farhart and even took a tablet. While this did seem to help him a bit, but this took a toll on him.

“I don’t think it’s serious,” Pujara said adding, “The cause of the injury, I’m obviously not a physio so I can’t say much about it. But I don’t think it’s serious. We had a wonderful partnership today … so I’m really pleased with that,” he added.

Speaking on his partnership with Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara shared high praise on his skipper. He also admitted that he enjoyed watching Kohli batting from the other end.

He is such a great timer of the ball. His straight drive struck me the most, especially in this innings. The way he was hitting the ball, when I was standing at the non-striker’s end, I could see his full face. That is one shot I really enjoyed watching,” he concluded.

However, Australian opener resisted from losing any wickets as they finished the day on 8 for no loss with Aaron Finch and Marcus Harris still on the crease.
