Former Indian National Cricket team player Javagal Srinath has shared high praise on Jasprit Bumrah following his six-wicket haul in the first innings in the Boxing Day Test at the MCG.

Meanwhile, Bumrah broke a 39-year-old record of most Test wickets in the debut year. In addition to, he also became the only Asian bowler to take five-wicket hauls in South Africa, England, and Australia in the same calendar year. After Virat Kohli decided to declare their first innings at 443 for seven, Jasprit Bumrah ripped apart the hosts batting to bowl them out for 151.

Following his fiery spell, Bumrah found an admirer in Javagal Srinath, who rated his spell as the best in Australia ever. Sharing high praises, Srinath noted that Bumrah had brought more varieties to his bowling.

This would definitely be one of the best spells bowled in Australia. That is what my opinion is. He was unplayable all the way through. It was not just one spell but every ball he bowled he looked terrific. The pace he generated was unbelievable and the line was too good. He has brought in more variety and he has truly showcased all varieties in fast bowling,” Srinath told MyNation.

India, on the other hand, is on the verge of taking a 2-1 lead in the four-match Test series. They only need three more wickets to script a historical Boxing Day victory at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Jasprit Bumrah starred once again with the ball picking two wickets while Ravindra Jadeja bagged three.
