Australia vs India 2018: Sachin Tendulkar Lauds Mohammad Shami's 6-Wicket-Haul

It was a great day at the office for Mohammad Shami. He bowled with an intent on the Perth wicket to help India bail-out from the tough situation. He finished with a career-best performance by bagging a six-wicket haul. Meanwhile, the former legendary cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar impressed with the show by Shami.

On day 3, he knocked out Shaun Marsh and then bagged the wickets of Usman Khawaja, Travis Head and Tim Paine to added more glory to it on Day 4. Then, he went on to pick the wickets of Aaron Finch, who was retired hurt earlier and then Nathan Lyon to finish his fine spell.

Meanwhile, the former Indian specialist Sachin Tendulkar quoted that the display by Shami was a top-class effort. Further, he added that it was a treat to watch those 6 wickets of Shami to dismantle Australian lineup.

Digging into his tweet, it read ”Glad to see such consistent fiery bowling by our pace attack. Mohammad Shami has been exceptional today. Your 6 wickets have been an absolute joy to watch.”

This was Shami’s second overseas five-wicket haul in 2018 after he claimed a match-winning 5/28 against South Africa in Johannesburg burg in January. His 42 wickets have come at an average of 27.07 apiece and a strike-rate of 48.06, from ten Tests.

Coming to the match progress, the first session of day 4 went down headlining a wicketless session. However, the second session saw a completely different phase with as many as 8 wickets being named on the chart.

Australians were bundled out to set India a target of 287 runs on the board. Meanwhile, India lost their 2 top-order batsmen asking the skipper and Co to finish the task. KL Rahul once again disappointed while Pujara was the big fish for Australia.
