Babar Azam Ordered By Lahore Court To Stop Harassing Women Alleging Rape

Pakistan captain and the mainstay of their batting-unit Babar Azam, and his family have been ordered by a sessions court in Lahore to not harras Hamiza Mukhatar, who has alleged that she was raped by the 26-year-old.

Abid Raza, Justice Sessions Judge heard Mukhatar’s petition, according to a report publishes in Geo News.  Mukhatar, in her petition, said that Babar Azam had raped her by luring him with fake promises of marriage.

She further added that Babar had formed illicit relations with her, post which she became pregnant. Mukhatar further alleged that the current Pakistan captain had forced her into abortion while promising her that the couple will get married. She also annexed her medical documents as evidence.

Hamiza Mukhatar further revealed that she had tried to lodge an FIR against Babar Azam at the Naseerabad Police Station, but the latter coerced her into withdrawing the complaint on marriage re-assurance.

However, she alleged that Babar refused to marry her after he shot to global fame. Mukhatar further added that she had tried to lodge another complaint but the police did not file the FIR.

For the uninitiated, the matter first shot into the limelight when Mukhatar leveled allegations of physical violence and sexual abuse against Babar Azam during a press conference in Lahore.

Meanwhile, Babar Azam is currently in New Zealand where he will lead Pakistan in three T20Is and two Test matches and according to a report in Geo News, Azam has not yet responded on the same.
