Ben Stokes' Hearing Date Announced for Affray Case

English all-rounder Ben Stokes is slated to appear at Bristol’s Magistrate’s Court to answer the affray charges on him on the day he was scheduled to make his national comeback. The England and the Wales Cricket Board on Wednesday made it clear that the all-rounder is due to make his international comeback and was slated to fly with the team ahead of the T20I series in New Zealand next month.

The Englishmen will be up against a resurgent Black Caps in Wellington from February 13. However, it has been announced by the Avon and the Somerset Police that 13th February is also the date when Stokes need to give his statement in front of the court.

The all-rounder was involved in a roadside brawl outside a pub in Bristol, and a video got circulated where Stokes was seen bodily harming the other two involved. All the three people charged with affray needs to present at court on 13th February.

It was due to the charges against him that Stokes had to miss the Ashes which proved to be vital for as they ended up losing 4-0 and surrendered the urn to Australia. He is a big player for England, and they have been missing his services dearly.
