During the same Q-A session, Kumar was asked about the impact of the ban on saliva on a cricket ball. The International Cricket Council [ICC] has banned the use of saliva to shine the ball, as part of the Covid-19 guidelines.

Bhuvneshwar was asked by one of the fans as to whether the use of sweat will compensate for the absence of saliva. The fast bowler reckoned that it will be challenge for the bowlers as sweat will not be possible everywhere, especially in cooler countries like England or New Zealand.

“Sweat is not possible everywhere in the world, definitely it’s going to be challenging. Hope things get better soon as they were,” Bhuvneshwar said during the Q&A session.

Last month, Bhuvneshwar Kumar had also called for the allowance of the use of an artificial substance to shine the cricket ball.

“I hope the ICC comes up with some artificial way by which we can shine the ball. You need to do it when you bowl in swinging conditions in (places like) England. Even the spinners need it,” Kumar had said in a webinar organized by GainAccess Sports & Entertainment and Sportz Power.
