BPL 2018: Shahid Afridi Joins Comilla Victorians for Forthcoming Season

Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has joined reigning champions Comilla Victorians for the forthcoming season of the Bangladesh Premier League 2018-19. Afridi had also played in the previous season of the Twenty20 league. The Pakistan talisman all-rounder had represented Dhaka Dynamites in the previous season of the tournament.

In fact, the player’s draft for the upcoming season of the league is going on at Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka. Afridi was listed in A+ category and was picked by Comilla Victorians in the first round of the draft for the foreign players. Sri Lanka’s T20I skipper Thisara Perera was also taken on board by the defending champions.

Former South African linchpin AB de Villiers has also joined Rangpur Riders. de Villiers will play with the likes of Alex Hales and Chris Gayle in his team. England’s all-rounder Ravi Bopara will also join Rangpur Riders.

Furthermore, David Warner is also going to be the part of the BPL 2018-19 season. The southpaw batsman will play for Sylhet Sixers in the domestic T20 league of Bangladesh. Moreover, Nepal’s talented spinner Sandeep Lamichanne and Pakistan’s lanky fast bowler Mohammad Irfan will also play for the same team. Bangladesh’s wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is also available in today’s draft.

On the other hand, Dhaka Dynamites will have players like Shakib Al Hasan, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, and Andre Russell. Therefore, these big players are going to lighten up the tournament with their world-class skills. England’s batsman Ian Bell has joined Dhaka Dynamites.

It is good to note that Bangladesh Premier League is getting quality players in the tournament. This will certainly help in the growth of Bangladesh cricket.
