Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg has picked his best IPL eleven for the upcoming edition. With the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) just around the corner, various cricketers have come up with several predictions, swot analysis, and forecasts. Brad Hogg, who is one of the most active cricketers in social media, has also made projections of the team’s standings in the points table.

Brad Hogg began with picking Rohit Sharma and David Warner as openers. Rohit Sharma and David Warner are amongst the highest run-getters in IPL history with an impressive strike rate and capable of getting their teams to brisk starts. At number four, Virat Kohli will come out to bat, who is the all-time highest run-getter in the tournament’s history. Hogg has placed Kane Williamson at number four, who will also captain the side.

While Williamson does not have an outstanding record as captain, he leads from the front. During Warner’s absence in the 2018 edition, Kane Williamson was the one, who took charge of Sunrisers Hyderabad. The 29-year old’s captaincy and a red-hot form with the bat guided the 2016 champions to the final. However, Shane Watson’s destructive century in that game denied them their second title. With 735 runs, Williamson was the highest run-getter in that edition.

Brad Hogg picks Rishabh Pant as keeper over MS Dhoni:

The Western Australian named Rishabh Pant to stand behind the stumps over Chennai Super Kings’ skipper MS Dhoni, which deservedly raised plenty of eyebrows. The likes of Andre Russell and Ravindra Jadeja are the specialist all-rounders. It is worth noting that Russell won the man of the tournament award last year for his exploits with the bat and ball. Sunil Narine was one of the spinners along with Yuzvendra Chahal in the line-up.

The Trinidadian off-spinner opens the batting for Kolkata Knight Riders and is a pinch-hitter. Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will head Brad Hogg’s fast-bowling department. The latter has a penchant for operating expertly with the new ball and in death overs, bagging the purple cap in 2016 and 2017. On the other hand, Bumrah is also known for his fiery yorkers and deliver deceptive slower balls.

Brad Hogg’s best IPL 2020 XI: David Warner, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson (C), Rishabh Pant (wk), Andre Russell, Ravindra Jadeja, Sunil Narine, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah.
