Brad Hogg, former Australian leg-spinner, feels that Kolkata Knight Riders pace bowling spearhead Pat Cummins will be too hot to handle for his compatriot and Rajasthan Royals skipper Steve Smith.

Kolkata Knight Riders will lock horns against a red-hot Rajasthan Royals unit in Dubai on Wednesday and one of the battles to watch out for will be Pat Cummins vs Steve Smith and Jos Butter.

Pat Cummins got off to a horrendous start to his 2020 IPL campaign against the Mumbai Indians before the champion fast bowler came back brilliantly in the second game against SunRisers Hyderabad. Brad Hogg feels Cummins will continue his form and probably have the better of Steve Smith against the Rajasthan Royals.

“KKR have won one and lost one. But the game that they lost, Pat Cummins had just come out of isolation, he did not have enough work under his belt. He was a little short and a little slow. But that second game, he found his pace and thus it is Pat Cummins against Steve Smith. I feel Pat Cummins will have too much pace, he will test Smith with the short ball and be successful and win the game for KKR,” Brad Hogg said on his YouTube channel.

Brad Hogg also reckoned that Rajasthan Royals will come into their encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders with their tale up.

The Royals are the only side that hasn’t been beaten thus far in IPL 2020. They kickstarted their campaign with a brilliant win over Chennai Super Kings before miraculously winning the second game against Kings XI Punjab where they affected a record run-chase thanks to top-order brilliance from Steve Smith and Sanju Samson and the death-over shenanigans by Rahul Tewatia and Jofra Archer.

“The Rajasthan Royals have got their tournament off to a great start. Two good wins straightaway. The good thing about them is that they chased down a huge total as well as defended a total. So batsmen and bowlers will go into this game quietly confident,” Brad Hogg said.
