When Royal Challengers Bangalore took on Kings XI Punjab, there were more to the game than just winning it. The likes of Chris Gayle and KL Rahul had a job in hand to perform against a side that released the duo ahead of the auction.

The Jamaican flamboyant cricketer even went on to say that the Bangalore franchise had approached him and ensured that he would be retained. But to his surprise, they never got back to him. The game turned out to be a spoiler as Punjab were bowled out for 88 while Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel chased it down with about 12 overs to spare.

Yuzi, Gayle’s moment of affection

But no love was lost as Yuzvendra Chahal posted a picture of his bromance with Gayle post the encounter. Chahal and Gayle played for RCB last year and had a great time together. The duo was seen hanging out and sharing social media space during last year’s IPL.

The leggie asked his followers to caption the picture. And to his surprise, the Universe Boss himself came out with a caption that read- ‘He miss me’. The spinner acknowledged the comment and replied to him saying ‘Yes I’m’.

It seems that all is well and good between Gayle and the RCB side after the bitter incident. While many cricket pundits were shocked on knowing the fact that Gayle was released after a poor 2017 season, the big man himself said that he was taken aback too, after all, he was one of the most successful batsmen for the franchise over the years.

“Not ‘one of’. I was their biggest draw. It was disappointing from that end, because they had called me. They wanted me in the team and I was told that I will be retained. But they never called back after that. So that gave me the impression that they didn’t want me and it’s fine. As I said, I can’t fight with anyone. I think I had a wonderful CPL and BPL – where I scored two centuries for my side Rangpur Riders. The stats don’t lie: 21 centuries, most number of sixes. If that doesn’t put a stamp on brand Chris Gayle, I don’t know what will,” Gayle had said earlier.
