The game of cricket never fails in entertaining the fans. Be it with the bat or with the ball or with the skills of the fielder, it always puts fans on edge of their seats. In the latest, the match between Madhya Pradesh and Meghalaya in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019, there was an incident, which left the crowd in splits when Puneet Bisht made a comedy of error.

Puneet Bisht missed the chance:

It was in the 17th over of the game when Patidar knocked the ball to point and sets off for a quick single. However, the non-striker V Iyer was never interested in running to the striker end. In between, Puneet Bisht, the wicket-keeper, who isn’t aware of the ongoing drama between the batsmen, tried to guide the ball on to the stumps, which wasn’t the case.

It was the moment when both the players are in the middle of the crease and just a presence of mind at the moment would have done the trick. However, in the end, it went down as one of the comedy moments in the game of cricket.

It certainly made a massive impact on the game, as the batsman went on to smash the bowlers out of the park with ease. During his stay in the middle, Rajat Patidar smashed  68 runs off just 29 balls. Meanwhile, Venkatesh Iyer scored 28 runs off 11 balls that included 3 fours and 1 six.

Coming to the progress of the game, initially, Madhya Pradesh won the toss and elected to bat first. Justifying the toss, both the openers smashed brilliant half-centuries, which came at a stunning strike rate. It was followed by the knock of Rajat Patidar, who smashed 5 boundaries and 5 Sixes.

The knocks from the top five batsmen helped Madhya Pradesh to smash 244 runs on the board in 20 overs. In reply to the chase, Puneet Bisht started brilliantly by smashing 44 runs off 19 balls but failed to continue.
