CPL 2018: Andre Russell Scores Hundred and takes a Hat-Trick in Same Game

Andre Russell wrote his name in the history books when he scored a century and took a hat-trick in the same match of CPL. Thus, the combative all-rounder guided his team, Jamaica Tallawahs to a four-wicket win.

Therefore, Andre Russell became the second player to achieve the unique feat. In fact, Joe Denly recently claimed the same milestone when he scored a fine hundred and took a hat-trick while playing for Kent against Surrey.

Meanwhile, Andre Russell was on fire for the Jamaica Tallawahs in the third match of CPL. The pugnacious all-rounder scalped the wickets of Brendon McCullum, Darren Bravo, and Denesh Ramdin. Furthermore, the Windies all-rounder smashed the fastest century in the Carribean Premier League getting to the milestone in just 40 balls.

In fact, Jamaica Tallawahs had their backs against the wall as they were tottering at 41 for the loss of five wickets. However, Russell was able to rescue his team out of the choppy waters. The swashbuckling all-rounder played a blistering knock of 121 off just 49 balls to take his team over the line by four wickets.

Russell also received support from Kennar Lewis who scored 51 off just 35 balls. Meanwhile, Andre Russell scored six fours and thirteen maximums in his mind-boggling inning. Therefore, Russell single-handedly took the Jamaica Tallwahs to their maiden win of the season.

On the other hand, the reigning champions Trinbago Knight Riders were able to put 223 on the board after been put in by the visitors. Brendon McCullum and Colin Munro scored fifties to help take the defending champions to an above par score. Furthermore, this was the second half-century on the trot for southpaw batsman, Colin Munro.
