Trinbago Knight Riders have reached final for the third time in the last four consecutive years. One more successful step and they would be defending their title for this year as well. Dwayne Bravo-led side thumped St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Qualifier 2 to repeat the Qualifier 1 clash in the CPL 2018 final.

It was a sound victory for Trinbago Knight Riders, as they played their heart out despite defending the moderate total. All the goods by the bowlers delivered when it mattered the most to put St Kitts on the wrong side of the things.

Brendon McCullum shines once again

In a crucial game, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the toss and put Trinbago Knight Riders to bat first. Colin Ingram, who replaced Sunil Narine as the opening batsman failed to make use of the position, as he was sent back for just five runs.

However, Colin Munro and Brendon McCullum tried to repair the things for the team. It was quite unusual that Colin Munro took as many as 31 balls to score 29 runs. On the other end, McCullum blazed his way to scoring 43 off 26 balls.

The decent 25+ run knocks from the other batsman pushed total to a moderate 165 runs on the board. Sheldon Cottrell picked a couple of wickets while Cutting, Gayle and Braithwaite grabbed a wicket each.

Fawad Ahmed and Sunil Narine bundle St Kitts out:

In reply to the chase, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots got the initial jolt in the form of Chris Gayle, who walked back for a duck. Then came the magical spell by Sunil Narine and Fawad Ahmed, who ruled the roost in the middle.

They both shattered St Kitts middle order to dent them in the chase. Fawad Ahmed was the wrecker-in-chief, who finished with three wickets for just 13 runs. On the other hand, Sunil Narine bagged a couple of wickets.

Devon Thomas, Brandon King and Allen were the only three batsmen who tried to chase the tally. However, in the end, it was needed one more batsman to deliver which made the things fall in the place for Trinbago Knight Riders.
