CPL 2018: Trinbago Knight Riders Lifts Trophy, Beats Guyana Amazon Warriors in Finals

Trinbago Knight Riders won the sixth edition of the Carribean Premier League (CPL 2018) beating Guyana Amazon Warriors by eight wickets in the finale at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad.
Earlier, Trinbago Knight Riders skipper, Dwayne Bravo won the toss and elected to bowl first. They began brilliantly, as Ali Khan picked up Cameron Delport’s wicket on the very first ball of the match.
Bowlers shone for Trinbago
Meanwhile, wicket-keeper batsman, Luke Ronchi, and Shimron Hetmyer played a fantastic inning of 52 runs. However, after the departure of Ronchi and Hetymer, Guyana Amazon Warriors batsman struggled to keep their wickets. For Trinbago Knight Riders, Khary Pierre bagged with three wickets while Dwayne Bravo picked up two.

However, Guyana Amazon Warriors managed to put up a score of 147 runs with the loss of nine wickets at the end of 20 overs. Furthermore, Trinbago Knight Riders opening pair Denesh Ramdin and Brendon McCullum started their innings on a good note and added 52 runs for their first wicket. Romario Shepherd picked up the first one showing Brendon McCullum the way towards the pavilion.
Colin Munro – the star for Trinbago
Colin Munro, who was in a good form throughout the CPL 2018 came to bat at number three. Munro and Ramdin added 35 runs off just 30 balls. However, good length delivery from Chris Green saw Ramdin getting dismissed. Meanwhile, Munro showed some fantastic batting in the middle and scored 68 runs off just 39 deliveries. He smashed three huge sixes and six boundaries.
Guyana Amazon Warriors bowlers Chris Green and Romario Shepherd each only manage to pick one wicket. Meanwhile, Darren Bravo got retired hurt in the middle, and Colin Ingram replaced him.

At the end of the game, Khary Pierre got declared as the ‘Man of the Match’ and Colin Munro as ‘Man of the Tournament.’ Trinbago Knight Riders won the match by eight wickets with more 15 balls to go.
