There is something with Indian skippers and the overseas tours, it isn’t a good one though. Whenever Team India travels overseas, we see the skippers pushing themselves to try their hand out in bowling. Earlier, it was MS Dhoni and now, it is the Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Nonetheless, the crowd enjoyed the show from Virat Kohli.
The Indian fast bowling unit, who were expected to deliver the goods has fared pretty poorly in the practice game. They were easily knocked down to runs by Australian batsmen to push Virat Kohli to come into a bowling chart.
The Indian skipper has got a decent bowling, which also got a swing in the air. The commentators were pretty excited with the bowling of Virat Kohli as well. In total, he delivered a couple of overs.
Nobody asked for it, but here it is anyway! Every ball bowled by @imVkohli at the SCG today #CAXIvIND https://t.co/iJrJ4sSSxy

As it happened:
Initially, it was Cricket Australia, who won the toss and asked Indians to bat first. The opener KL Rahul once again failed to knock the runs, as he was gone for 3 runs to his name. However, Prithvi Shaw and Pujara struck decent fifties.
Then it was the turn of Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Hanuma Vihari, who brought their individual fifties as well. Rohit Sharma also got a decent 40-run knock. For Australia, Aaron Hardie picked 4 wickets.

In reply to the tally, Cricket Australia got a decent start with openers putting on a 114-run partnership. D’Arcy Short scored 74 while Max Byrant scored 62. Ashwin was the first to give the breakthrough while Shami chipped in with 3 wickets.
At the end of the stumps, Henry Neilson and the Aaron Hardie were at the crease with 56 and 69 runs respectively. They are trail by 2 runs with 4 wickets left in the kitty.
