Cricket Club of India Covers Portrait Of Imran Khan In Its Restaurant

The prestigious Cricket Club of India (CCI) has taken a unique decision as a mark of protest against the dastardly terror attack on CRPF convoy in Kashmir’s Pulwama.

February 14 would always be remembered as one of the darkest days in the country’s otherwise glorious history.  In one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir’s three decades of militancy, a suicide bomber from the Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a CRPF bus in Pulwama district, killing at least 40 personnel and leaving many critically wounded.

The bus was on the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Lethpora town, about 30 km from Srinagar when the attack took place. The entire nation is in a state of shock as well as furious following the gruesome attack. The whole of India is condemning the attack and paying tribute to the fallen brave souls.

The Indian cricketing fraternity has also not remained behind with players from past and present not only condemning the cowardly attack but also paying tribute to the martyrs. And now Cricket Club of India has gone one step further in an attempt to condemn the attack and show protest to it.

The prestigious club, home to the iconic Brabourne Stadium, has covered the portrait of former Pakistan skipper and current Prime Minister of the country Imran Khan in its restaurant.  The entire CCI premises has portraits of the greatest cricketers across eras and from all nations.

“See, CCI is a sports-club and we have photographs of past and present cricketers from all countries. We wanted to show, in our way displeasure on whatever is happening right now. It is mark of protest. We have covered it as of now but can’t say right now if we would take it down,” CCI President Premal Udani told PTI.
