Cricket West Indies and the national squad has revealed its brand new jersey ahead of their three-match T20 series against New Zealand on the latter’s home turf. West Indies was perhaps one of the two teams to resume international cricket for the first time since the COVID-19-imposed break and is the first side to tour twice after the pandemic. The first of the three T20Is begins in Auckland on the 27th of November.

The T20I jersey features a radiant, contemporary maroon, and yellow geometric pattern along with sleeves of maroon colour. The bright and bold colours along with the design, are the hallmark of the #MenInMaroon, which plays one of the most exciting brands of cricket in the shortest format. The playing shirts are made with a premium, lightweight performance stretch fabric and available in both short and long sleeve versions.

The jersey would be a fixed one for all the T20I matches leading up to the ICC T20 World Cup in 2021 in India and be the same for the women’s team too. The Caribbeans are not only defending champions but also lifted the title twice in the T20I arena. They beat Sri Lanka in 2012 followed by overcoming England in a famous encounter in Kolkata four years later. Retired international cricketer Marlon Samuels played an instrumental part in both the victories.

Cricket West Indies’ Commercial Director Dominic Warne felt excited as the new T20I shirt remains on the verge of its debut in New Zealand. Warne is confident that the fans would adore the bold design and support the West Indian team for the upcoming series and throughout next year.

We’re really excited for the new T20I shirt to debut with the West Indies Men’s team in New Zealand. We know that the fans will love the bold design and rally behind the #MenInMaroon for this series and throughout 2021,” Warne said in an official statement.
