Cricketing Fraternity Reacts To Shashi Kapoor's Death

Indian cricketing fraternity is mourning the loss of Bollywood stalwart Shashi Kapoor, who died Monday (December 4) at the age of 79, following some health issues.

Kapoor, who carved his own place in the fans’ heart with his romantic roles, had been ill for some time and was undergoing treatment at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital, where he was admitted on Sunday night for treatment of a chest infection.

The last and youngest of the famous Kapoor brothers, Shashi won several national film awards and was conferred with the prestigious Padma Bhushan in 2011. In 2015, he was given the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award which is the highest honour in Indian cinema. He began his acting career as a child actor, appearing in films such as Aag and Awaara. He acted in more than 150 films, including several in English.
