Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Moeen Ali lost his wicket to the brilliance of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) debutant Suyash Prabhudessai, who ran him out with some brilliant showing in the field at the point in the ongoing 22nd match of the IPL 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
CSK is still searching for their first win in the ongoing tournament after having lost four games, while RCB have three wins in four matches with one loss. It was an emotional night for Faf du Plessis, as he turned out for a toss against his former franchise, where he played for 10 years.
He won the toss and invited Ravindra Jadeja’s CSK to bat first. RCB made two changes to their playing XI as Suyash Prabhudessai made his RCB debut in place of Harshal Patel and Josh Hazlewood also made his first appearance for RCB, replacing David Willey of England.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa opened the innings for CSK, who went in unchanged. Gaikwad looked good, hitting 3 boundaries in his 17-run knock, but was sent back to the dugout after being dismissed LBW by Josh Hazlewood.
Suyash Prabhudessai’s Brilliance At Point Runs Out Moeen Ali
In walked Moeen Ali at no.3 and much was expected from the England all-rounder. However, his stay at the crease was limited to 8 balls and 3 runs. On the 4th ball of the 7th over bowled by Glenn Maxwell, Moeen Ali played a cut short and took off for a run.
He has assumed that the ball went past the point fielder Suyash Prabhudessai, however, the youngster had made a brilliant diving save and was quick to throw the ball to keeper Dinesh Karthik, who whipped off the bails in a jiffy, while Moeen could do nothing, having reached the mid-pitch and looked as he was run out.
