After James Anderson, the modern great of South Africa Dale Steyn reacts on the ongoing controversy of ‘Mankad’, which happened in the ongoing ICC T20I World Cup 2020. Afghanistan U-19 spinner Noor Ahmad sparked controversy on Friday after he Mankaded Pakistan U-19 batsman Mohammad Huraira in the quarter-final.

Ahmad ran Huraira out on the non-striker’s end after he was caught outside the crease by the Chinaman spinner before releasing the ball. He appealed instantly and the batsman was adjudged out to once again spark the debate around whether the dismissal and the actions of the bowlers are in line with the spirit of cricket.

While his dismissal didn’t have an impact on the result of the game, the Mankading episode took the cricket fraternity by a storm with the likes of James Anderson and Mohammad Kaif criticising the rule.

The England bowler got the backing in the name of Steyn, who gives his opinion on the controversial dismissal.

Replying to a journalist Piers Morgan’s tweet on the Mankading incident in the U-19 quarterfinal between Afghanistan and Pakistan, Steyn wrote, “This s**t’s getting outa hand.”

As per the laws of the game, “if the non-striker is out of his/her ground at any time from the moment the ball comes into play until the instant when the bowler would normally have been expected to release the ball, the non-striker is liable to be run out.”

I just love what I script. Over the years, Cricket has been my passion and crisping articles on it gives me an immense pleasure...Cheers...!!!
