Daniel Vettori Appointed Head Coach of Rajshahi Kings

Former New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori has been appointed as the head coach of the Rajshahi Kings for the next two seasons of the Bangladesh Premier League.

Daniel Vettori has been associated with four other T20 teams around the world and has been involved in their coaching staff.

The left-arm spinner was also associated with the coaching setup of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.

Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League and Middlesex in the T20 Blast.

Royal Challengers Bangalore finished as the runners-up in the 2016 edition of the IPL under Vettori’s coaching.

Middlesex also qualified for the quarterfinals of the T20 Blast in 2016 for the first time since their title-winning triumph in 2008.

Brisbane Heat also qualified for the semi-final in 2016-17 under Daniel Vettori which was also their best finish since clinching the trophy in 2012-13.

Rajshahi Kings are yet to win the title. The Kings will be hoping with Vettori’s expertise will bring help them win the league for the first time.

Tahmid Haque, chief executive of Rajshahi Kings, said:

“We are delighted to appoint Vettori as our head coach considering his vast experience both as a player and later as a coach.”

He also added:

“We are confident his arrival will help our team a lot considering he can guide our cricketers to the desired destination. I am sure they will have the opportunity to learn a lot from him.”
