David Warner, on Tuesday, led from the front as he helped SunRisers Hyderabad thrash Mumbai Indians by ten wickets in the must-win clash. SRH needed to win the game to make it to the playoffs and put up a dominating show to see off the defending champions and the table-toppers.
Asked to bat first, Mumbai Indians finished their innings on 149 for 8 in the stipulated 20 overs. Kieron Pollard was the top-scorer with 41 while Sandeep Sharma impressed with the ball, taking 3 for 34.
In reply, SRH chased down the total inside 18 overs without losing a single wicket. David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha shared an unbeaten stand of 151 runs to guide their side to a thumping win. The Australia star remained unbeaten on 85 while Saha remained unbeaten on 58.
David Warner creates history:
During the course of his knock, David Warner crossed the 500-run mark and became the first-ever batsman to score 500 or more runs in an IPL season six times. Virat Kohli is second in the list, having scored 500 or more runs in an IPL season five times. In the ongoing season, Kohli has scored 460 runs in 14 games so far.
With RCB to play at least one more game this season, Kohli could equal David Warner’s feat. Delhi Capitals opener Shikhar Dhawan is third in the list, having scored 500 or more runs in a season 4 times. In the ongoing season, he has already scored 525 runs.

David Warner, on the other hand, has scored 529 runs in 14 games so far at an average of more than 44. The southpaw has been one of the most consistent batsmen in the IPL in the last few seasons. Nothing defines his consistency more than the fact that he has scored more than 500 runs in all the season since 2014.
